CIVITA di Bagnoregio is a charming medieval village clinging to tuff rock; here there are a lot of Etruscan tombs, amid a unique landscape of gullies that reach the Tiber River. The village is famous worldwide as the "dying town"; because of the continuous erosion that have progressively reduced the town, Civita is almost an unreal place today; the access is due to a suspension bridge and the medieval gate of St. Maria. Not far from Civita is Bagnoregio, the village where St. Bonaventure was born; here his Bible is kept in the Cathedral of St. Nicholas.
