MONTEFIASCONE is Est! Est!! Est!!! wine…The passion for the grapes has been handed down by the Etruscans, rich in history and witness; nowadays it allows people to enjoy good wine in medieval cellars at many places of Etruria Laziale. In the first days of august, Montefiascone is the scene of a reenactment of the medieval legend of the Est! Est!! Est!!! wine linked to the character of Johannes Defuk and his servant Martin. It is possible to arrange a visit to a vineyard and enjoy, weather permitting, the splendid view of Bolsena Lake and then partecipate to a wine tasting and a local products tasting at Azienda Vitivinicola “Antica Cantina Leonardi”. The visit to the historic town and especially to the Basilica of St. Flavian is very interesting. Pleasant is a break in the garden at the Rocca, a place on the very top of the hill, from where a beautyful panorama on the Bolsena Lake can be enjoyed at 360 degrees.
