With its more than a hundred tombs with frescoes from the Archaic Age and the Hellenistic, TARQUINIA is the largest frescoes gallery in the ancient world. The town owes its importance to its Etruscan origins. To see and not to be missed the visit to the famous Etruscan Necropolis, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and to the prestigious National Archaeological Museum in the magnificent Palazzo Vitelleschi in the city centre. Visits are planned. It is also possible to organize visits at the Saline di Tarquinia Natural Reserve, archaeological and naturalistic excursions at the SIC of the ancient Etruscan settlement of “Pian della Civita” and along the Via dei Principi.
